Deas & Lubica are the purveyors of might fine house music this month on Baroque Cobra is a tuff techno workout, a real bag of energy with its relentless bass and prominent clattering drum lines, its snake charmer topline enters in the breakdown & sits perfectly amidst the building eastern percussion. proper peak time time stuff Visionary is a funkier chunkier cut, with hypnotic repeating stabbs, filtered melody lines & big raspy hits. The melody line moves about and snares bounce all around…

	Tim Points – Tierno EP

An excellent two track single release here from Tim Points Tierno is first up, slick crisp beats , a groovin bass and some reggae style sound bites and organ drops are complimented by sultry spoken female vox. its pure heads down feet shuffling stuff Jooploop is a bit tuffer , with plenty of high percs & a bass which creeps in amongst the synth stabbs and bouncy hooks, as it builds with layers of synths , and reverse effects adding drive.

Alessandro – Alone In The Dark EP

An energetic outing from Alessandro here ‘Alone In The Dark’ is bursting with bouncing beats, rolling rhythms and popping hooks, some cool production twists and turns in the breakdown add suspense leading in to the later stages of the track ‘Trip To Sunny Beach’ moves on with a wiggly backbeat and sharp percs. increasing robotic undertones make for a real electronic relentless drive.. and simple understated melodies add feel and motion. Two highly addictive groovers.

	Various Artists – ELEVENnine

hey hey hey.. number 9 in our ELEVEN ‘catch up’ series is here.. and could there be a better way to kick start your month ? a seriously stacked collection of house & techno, from the Baroque Label Group, one of the UKs longest running & leading underground music stables This collection features tracks & mixes from the likes of Michael Cassette, Max Mason & Josel, Ben Coda & Innate, Q.U.A.K.E & The 8th Note, Graeme Lloyd, Anton Stellz, Dio S, Stefano Ranieri.. and loads more.

You aren’t going to lose your scalp from the blade of a Hattori Hanzo sword while listening to the new Quirskta track, but we can’t guarantee that you won’t lose your head. Quirksta’s debut single ‘Misunderstood’, features the melody from the Sante Esmeralda disco cover ‘Don’t let me be Misunderstood’ – which played during the sword fight between Lucy Lui and Uma Thurman in Kill Bill Vol I. The updated vocals are delivered by fresh faced Amber Maxwell who is a diva in training on the dance music scene. Blessed with some good looks and a banging voice to match, Amber will be raising eyebrows and BPMs with her debut release.

The vocal line is where the similarities in the tracks end. Quirsta has taken the 70’s disco sound to the front of cutting edge dance with his pop and house references. The slicing keyboard lines on the top of the house drums add to the already hooky vocal and cement the track as an accessible dance floor hit. The track is released 17 October through all major online stores inc iTunes, Beatport, Juno etc.

How to DJ Part 1: Choosing Your DJ Music Style

One of the first steps in learning how to DJ is choosing your main music style. Most DJs will already have a definite idea of what music they will play as a high percentage of DJs started off their club life as one of the crowd, being a clubber. However, not everyone starts in this way, so before you learn how to DJ, settle on your main style.

To be a top DJ and love your DJing we highly recommend not comprising your music taste. Play music which inspires you, the music you feel would inspire clubbers and make them dance when they hear you DJ. If a DJ plays music they don’t love, their performance will not be half as good when they DJ in a club, not inspiring the clubbers around them, the people paying to hear them perform.

Once you’ve settled on your music style you’re ready to move on to the next stage of how to DJ.

Warmth Records, BTU008

Tom Lown – Cloud Surfer – Warmth Records

Brooklyn’s Warmth returns with the summer soul from South London’s freshest house creator, Tom Lown. Off the back of his release on Lost My Dog Records that made the Juno Download Top 5 last year, Lown brings us Cloud Surfer: a beautiful trip across the atmosphere over a seductively deep groove.

Side Stepper is a slightly more twisted, back room affair, while A Night at Peg – which is included as a bonus track – pays tribute to the many musically-influential nights spent at formative London club night, Peg. On remix duty are Williamsburg’s Woohoo, who delivers a Hip Hop-influenced take on the dreamy atmospheric tones of Cloud Surfer; and NYC’s longtime Lower East Side resident, Gaby Dershin, who tears up the rulebook with his driving and evolving remix of Side Stepper.

What People Are Saying

Agnes: Lovely release !

Brothers Vibe: Night At Peg is choice track

Robert Owens: great group of tracks

Deepchild (Trapez / Opossum Records): Plenty of goodness here

Roland Nights (Lost My Dog/Urban Torque): Excellent stuff from Tom, loving Side Stepper, thanks

Aruba (Elevation): A night at Peg is my fave. Deep and lush!

Benji Candelario: Good Tune!

Tommy Largo: nice deeper tracks. cloud surfer is my favourite

Evren Ulusoy (Loco, I Records, Kolour): nice and deep flow here.thanks!

Huxley: nice originals. cloud surfer is my favourite.

DJ Meri (ROTD Recordings): woohoo remix works for me thanks!

Bruno From Ibiza: cool stuff

Chris Udoh: Side Stepper is sweet!

Jesus Pablo: Cloudsurfer will be getting some heavy usage from me.

Francesco Tarantini: “Side Stepper” is a nice prime time roller..perfect for the early hours and for the sunset vibes. Will play for sure.

Hello music lovers!

How is everybody doing? We truly hope you are having a fabulous summer with lots of good parties, music and some holidays too!
We have had some days off on our own too but been busy in the studio as well! …and the results will be coming shortly on labels like LOWBIT, STRIPPED, TULIPA and REPLUG and few more yet to be announced! We have two biggies out this week for you!

DAVE SEAMAN & ANDY CHATTERLEY ‘BATTERY POWERED’
(inc. ALEX & FILIP, MONAQUE and MONTERO remixes) out now!

The First up is our biggest remix to date. We had the pleasure to remix one of world’s top jocks – Dave Seaman and a Grammy nominee and multi-talented, top producer Andy Chatterley for one of the fastest rising labels around: Silence Trough Music.

PRESS RELEASE:

Following up the Digweed / Prydz / Tong supported ‘K Conundrum’, Global Underground, Renaissance and Brothers In Rhythm legend Dave Seaman & producer/writer to the stars Andy Chatterley (From Kanye to Kylie!) are back with a new single. Entitled ‘Battery Powered’, this no nonsense power driven slice of techno has been a secret weapon in Dave’s sets for almost a year now but finally been snapped up and will see the light of day through the Silence Thr

ough Music label which is quickly establishing itself as an imprint of some repute. Alongside Dave & Andy’s storming original mix, remix duties have been taken up by Alex & Filip, Monaque and Montero catering for a wide selection of palates and the whole top notch package is available from Beatport.

FUSION F & COME T ‘WOODEN TANK’ out now!

Second up is the deeper prog-techno tinged remix for FUSION F & COME T – ‘WOODEN TANK’. We have taken the track on a deeper, more techno route with porgy atmospheres and a hypnotic vibe. It’s getting plays and support from the likes of MARK KNIGHT, ROCCO, MARCUS SCHULZ, DARIN EPSILON, SONIC UNION, STEVE PARRY, PENA, PQM, MONAQUE and to name just a few! Don’t hesitate and check it or grab it from Beatport.
‘MIRABILIS MOMENTS 1′ mixed by ALEX & FILIP out now!

…and one last thing! MIRABILIS MOMENTS 1 mixed by ALEX & FILIP is out now!

We have mixed the first mix compilation on our own label Mirabilis Records. The compilation entitled MIRABILIS MOMENTS features some of the tracks that appeared on the label and we carefully selected and mixed in what we think reflects all the sound we are pushing with the label: from deep melodic stuff to progressive house and some darker and heavier techno too! Check out the tracks and mix on Beatport.
